MAZÉ METHOD TEACHER TUNE UP: REFINE TO REVEAL [50 training hrs]

Join internationally acclaimed yoga teacher, Noah Mazé, for a special 5 day yoga tuneup that will boost your practice and sharpen your yoga practice and yoga teaching skills. This 50 hour intensive will change the way you consider your teaching choices and help you optimize what you already know. Each day will focus deeply on a primary category of teaching skill, a sequencing strategy and a postural category. You will expand your tool kit in sequencing for alignment classes, sequencing for vinyasa classes, effective verbal cues, observation and pose improvement, postural demonstrations, physical adjustments and class themes (myth and metaphor). You will also learn how to up level your vinyasa yoga game. Expect strong intermediate practices each day with Noah to further develop your own asana practice and understanding of pose architecture.
DAY 1 CREATE: Sequencing Strategies for Success -We lay the groundwork for creating effective class plans and sequences for a variety of purposes.
DAY 2 SPEAK: Communicating in the Seat of the Teacher - Say what you mean, mean what you say. Refine your use of language so that every word conveys your meaning. We will refine verbal cues so that your voice is more potent and your instructions are more resonant.
DAY 3 SEE: Observation, Demonstration & Pose Improvement Strategies- A picture is worth a thousand words. The ability to show students what you mean is crucial. Many of your students are visual learners and they won’t fully understand you until they see it. We will explore and practice a variety of types of postural demonstrations and pose improvement strategies.
DAY 4 BREATHE: Vinyasa Sequencing and Transitions- We study vinyasa flow sequencing and teaching techniques to highlight breath and movement, rhythm and momentum of continuous practice without sacrificing sound alignment. We explore pranayama and effective use of breath as primary support and crafting intelligent, effective and creative vinyasa sequences. We also explore how improve and choreograph transitions in vinyasa. And, we consider how to develop advanced vinyasa sequences.
DAY 5 TOUCH: Physical Adjustments- Increase the skill and efficacy of your use of touch. We will explore considerations of when and who and how to touch, as well as different types of physical adjustments in a variety common poses. We’ll dive into practical application for hands on adjustments, as well as explore the territory of consent, gender & power dynamics, and ethics as it relates to physical adjustments in the yoga room and beyond.
*All hours count toward CEUs with Yoga Alliance.
*All hours count toward 300 hour program at WL Hollywood and additionally count towards 300 hours with The Mazé Method.

Noah Mazé is papa to Madeleine (11) and Oliver (8). Noah has devoted his life to the subject of yoga. Noah is best known for his clear, precise and methodical teaching style, his tangible knowledge, and his ability to transmit with openness, curiosity, and wit. Noah began a regular hatha practice when he was 14 years old and has spent his life in learning. Ever-advancing the conversation and curriculum in yoga education, Noah co-founded his school, The Mazé Method with his wife, Tracy, nearly a decade ago. Together they have pioneered training content to enhance and sharpen the skills of yoga teacher around the world. Noah is always a student and has devoted himself to creating pathways for teachers to continue their learning and cultivation of voice and skill. In addition to creating and developing his school's curriculum, Noah serves as faculty for teacher trainings around the world, and acts as a consultant to corporations developing yoga education programs. He is a regular presenter at Wanderlust Festivals and contributes to publications including Yoga International, Yoga Journal and more. Noah lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Tracy, their two children; FIVE rescued dogs (?!), two rescued kittens, and (usually) at least one goldfish.
